Steven East, LAc, MAcOM, Dipl. OM is a nationally certified graduate of the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX. He is completing his DAOM studies focusing on Pain Management through integration of Acupuncture, Asian Bodywork, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Western Biomedicine. Steven’s specialty is Sports Medicine with a focus on treating pain due to soft tissue injury. He also takes pride in serving the Spanish speaking community and making sure that they receive the quality of care they deserve.

Steven’s deep-rooted desire to help people led him to AOMA, where he worked effectively alongside primary care physicians and specialists to assist in the early detection and prevention of serious disease; at the same time, while focusing his clinical efforts on pain management. He believes patients deserve teams of healthcare practitioners working together to ensure that you and your loved ones receive the appropriate attention and best care possible by combining Western and Eastern medicine. Steven learned the value of health at a young age and pursued a healthcare career after watching other family members struggle with cancer, diabetes, and dementia. Being his family’s advocate in the hardest of times showed him his purpose in life, and he is now proud to advocate on behalf of all his patients with the Austin Quan Yin team.

As a social entrepreneur, Steven takes great joy in solving problems for people sustainably. He enjoys helping people open new businesses and pursue their dreams, just like he did almost a decade ago with his first business. He is always looking for new and creative solutions for customer problems; this ability to look at issues holistically helps him get people what they need right when needed. He is a dedicated and lifelong learner committed to constantly expanding his knowledge of different modalities contributing to clinically effective healthcare in service of his patients.

While not working, Steven loves to spend time with his wife, five children, and animals on his small Georgetown farm. He is a member of Acupuncturists Without Borders, volunteered during the pandemic to treat emergency room staff between rounds at St. Davids Hospital, and has organized fundraisers on behalf of CASA and UNICEF in advocacy for better living standards for children in the US and globally.
