Dianne Duncan, LAc

Dianne Duncan, LAc, brings her passion for acupuncture and Chinese medicine to Austin Quan Yin in Austin, Texas. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners as an acupuncturist, is nationally certified in Oriental Medicine. She received her masters from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin.

As a systems analyst and project manager for twenty years, Dianne brings this discipline to managing a full-service professional apothecary carrying only medicinals and supplements certified for safety, purity and potency. She maintains her commitment to her patients by continually studying with leaders in Chinese Herbology in the US, nutrition, functional medicine and modern combination homeopathy. A member of the Texas State Acupuncture Association and the American Association of Oriental Medicine, Dianne serves her community by working with special populations. In her spare time Dianne enjoys traveling, cooking, theater, pilates, her cats and friends, and is an avid UT women’s basketball and volleyball fan.

Bryn Kanuck, LAc, MAcOM, Dipl. OM is a Nationally Board Certified Graduate of the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX with a focus in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Herbology, and Western Biomedicine. She is licensed by the Texas State Medical Board. Her training at AOMA also included: Tuina, Asian Bodywork, Cupping, and additional acupuncture methods such as Scalp, NADA and Auricular Therapy. Bryn is a certified Health and Wellness Coach from IIN, the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. In addition, she studied Masters Level Counseling Psychology at Chestnut Hill College.

Bryn’s passion for helping others led her to AOMA, and her philosophy is to meet the patient where they are today, sharing their journey towards balance and health. She believes in treating the whole patient, and combining Western and Eastern medicine. Bryn grew up with several doctors in her family, and was exposed to natural healing at an early age. She has always had an interest in alternative medicine and focuses on treating the root of the problem in order to help the body heal itself.

Earlier in her career, she was a product manager, sales leader and business consultant for a publicly-traded company. Bryn brings this focus on the customer experience and discipline to guiding clients to health and keeps her patients focused on creating and maintaining healthy goals. Creating an exceptional patient experience is a top priority. She strives to keep her commitment to her patients and will continue to study nutrition, functional medicine and chinese medicine modalities to bring the most modern concepts to her practice.

In her spare time Bryn enjoys Tennis, hiking, spending time with her family, her son is a UT student and her daughter is an art student in New York City.

Bryn is an animal lover and a volunteer with Austin Pets Alive, an animal rescue group whose goal is to make Austin a no kill community. In fact, her passion for saving animals in need has brought many animals in her home, she currently has two dogs and two cats. She also volunteered at CASA as a court appointed special advocate for children in the foster care system.

Steven East, LAc, MAcOM, Dipl. OM is a nationally certified graduate of the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX. He is completing his DAOM studies focusing on Pain Management through integration of Acupuncture, Asian Bodywork, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Western Biomedicine. Steven’s specialty is Sports Medicine with a focus on treating pain due to soft tissue injury. He also takes pride in serving the Spanish speaking community and making sure that they receive the quality of care they deserve.

Steven’s deep-rooted desire to help people led him to AOMA, where he worked effectively alongside primary care physicians and specialists to assist in the early detection and prevention of serious disease; at the same time, while focusing his clinical efforts on pain management. He believes patients deserve teams of healthcare practitioners working together to ensure that you and your loved ones receive the appropriate attention and best care possible by combining Western and Eastern medicine. Steven learned the value of health at a young age and pursued a healthcare career after watching other family members struggle with cancer, diabetes, and dementia. Being his family’s advocate in the hardest of times showed him his purpose in life, and he is now proud to advocate on behalf of all his patients with the Austin Quan Yin team.

As a social entrepreneur, Steven takes great joy in solving problems for people sustainably. He enjoys helping people open new businesses and pursue their dreams, just like he did almost a decade ago with his first business. He is always looking for new and creative solutions for customer problems; this ability to look at issues holistically helps him get people what they need right when needed. He is a dedicated and lifelong learner committed to constantly expanding his knowledge of different modalities contributing to clinically effective healthcare in service of his patients.

While not working, Steven loves to spend time with his wife, five children, and animals on his small Georgetown farm. He is a member of Acupuncturists Without Borders, volunteered during the pandemic to treat emergency room staff between rounds at St. Davids Hospital, and has organized fundraisers on behalf of CASA and UNICEF in advocacy for better living standards for children in the US and globally.
